The Explorer's Guide

Finding the perfect place for a home in Minecraft can be tough and can take a long time. This guide will help you on your wanderings until you find your perfect home.

Step 1: When You Spawn:

When you spawn, the first thing you need to do is to "punch" trees. Collect 16 wood, which will give you one stack (64 pieces) of wooden planks. Which should be enough for a make-shift home. It's not going to be big and fancy. Just a square four by four home three blocks high. We'll worry abut that later, though. Right now you need to make a wooden pick and a crafting table. Not in necessarily in that order. Then mine twenty cobblestone. Make a stone pickaxe, stone sword, and a furnace with twelve of those. The rest of the cobblestone is your's to use.

Next you're going to want to kill every chicken, pig, and cow in sight. No mercy. Then get three pieces wool from sheep to make a bed. Now you have materiel to make a bed to skip night.

Now you can go explore until sundown. Then build a four by four home three blocks high with a roof over it. Make sure it is squared off, or else you'll be fighting monsters all night long: in your home! Once you're inside, start cooking your food and eat it if you need it. Then craft a stone axe and a new sword or axe, if you need it. Once your food is done cooking, go to bed. When you awake, get a full stack of wood, take down any evidence of your home, and the repeat the process until you find the perfect home.
